MP Addiction

Hello everyone. My name is GobblyGook, and yes I am a massage addict. I don't know how it started, but it seems to have grown out of hand. I've lost so much. I've had to say good-bye to countless twenty and fifty dollar bills, so many that it makes my head spin and I chose not to add it all up. I admit it now. My back does not really hurt three times a week. I don't really have an old highschool neck injury from football. But these are the excuses I use for myself when I find myself driving to Markham Oasis or HFH.

That leads to my next addiction. massageplanet.net. I lurked for a year, gleaning jewels of information for which I was greedy. Then recently I started posting and sharing my knowledge. This opened up a whole new world for me - because then people started PM'ing me asking questions. Now I can hardly wait to log onto massageplanet.net and check for new posts and my PM's, to see how my MP buddies are doing. It's an addiction. Unfortunately my MP addiction and my massageplanet.net addiction feed each other. And the addiction grows.

The point of this post? I don't know if I have one. I know that there are others out there like me. We need help. And that help can be found on East Beaver Creek.

You definitely have a serious problem and the only cure known for it is intensive "therapy" with several different "therapists". Since you already have identified with EBC, I suggest that you partake in your therapy with the numerous establishments in that area ASAP and extensively. Always remember that therapy such as this will only be successful if you apply yourself fully to the task at (or in) hand. Good luck on a good recovery buddy!!!!

Think you should try the John Daly approach to addiction rather than the AA approach...admit you have a problem and enjoy it!

I admit that I may be an addict as well. But, deal with it in moderations. Instead of going every week, treat yourself once a month to an MP (go all out). If you find this difficult to control, then have a friend help you out. Go once a month with a friend to an MP, so that both of you can control each other's addiction if possible. You don't need to get a BS everytime as well, as this may be costly. If I think of any more advice, I'll add some more. Hope this helps!

i look at it as a hobby...and a great one to have...also i know half the people on here have wives or girlfriends...but look at it this way...do you like to eat the same food everyday....I SURE DON'T....that's why we go to these places...for something different...and someone new rubbing us down....agree or disagree but this is how i feel and i also love girls and this hobby for me will never end...

I have to admit massage is highly addictive, probably more so than SPs and also more readily available. There are at least 3 or 4 half decent Spas within walking distance of my apartment, way too convenient.

Another problem is MPAS who try to make me feel guilty if I miss some of my weekly or bi-weekly "therapy sessions". Anyone ever had this from an MPA ?

I am not sure if they have such a thing as massages anonymous, but I have considered S.L.A.A.(Sex & love Addicts Anonymous).

I think I may be powerless over massage parlors & my life has become unmanagable.

I am Curious if anyone else here, has gone the 12 steps way?

I had a buddy make me feel pretty bad one time when he said, "What if your wife was going out to places to have some guy fingering her on a table and getting her off?" That was supposed to make me feel guity right?

Hey Iguana,

What your buddy said is something that is none of us want to think about.

If you are in a committed relationship and going to MP's, you need to make sure you don't have a double standard. In other words, thinking it is ok for you to do it but it wouldn't be ok for your wife/girlfriend to be going to a male MPA.

Like they say, what's good for the goose..........

I think most of us feel guilty because we know it's something we wouldn't want our better half to be doing.

Just my opinion.
