MPA Share of the Door Fee

I have been going to MPs for several years. I always assume that MPA got most of the door fee plus whatever extras they negotiated. But my favourite MPA who I had been seeing every two weeks for several years told me that she only got 10 dollars for a 40 dollars 30 minutes session. The other 30 dollars go to the owner.

I usually pay her $120 for an hour session, but before that I was only paying her $100. I always thought that most of the money went to her, but now it looks like she will collect only half of the money.

So for anybody who thinks that MPAs make a lot of money, think again. At least half of the money will go to the owners.

Not sure where you are going but every spa I go to the MPA's tip is about twice the door fee. I guess the higher end you go, the bigger portion the attendant gets.

And $100-150 an hour in cash (low or no tax) is alot of money. Of course that is for a busier MPA. But they are entitled to charge market.

Its pretty standard nowadays that the doorfee goes to the House. Most spas also chanrge shift fees, reception fees, cleaning fees, locker rental fees, late fines, and more!!!

When I 1st started in the biz, I got a $10 commission. This is something we specifically offer our staff They deserve it!

At some MP's they get $0.00 of the door fee so if you don't tip they really get stiffed ...

Another discussion where we need to be clear: Tip is what you happily give over and above any fee charged. There is a door fee, and there are fees for upgrades like Topless or BodySlides.

If all you took was a basic massage, speedball's saying she'd only get $10. Not sure what exactly he's saying about upgrade rates, except he pays more than he used to. But anyone who walked out happy at the end of a 'basic' massage w/o ensuring her happiness w/ a tip is dirt cheap.

I think we'd all be surprised at how many different business models and payment structures are being used in the MP industry.
I know a few owners and MPAs in Montreal well enough to have discussed these things with them and they have confirmed to me that there are many different methods used even within the same MP for different MPAs.
I've seen everything from the girls paying the MP for the "privilege" of using their facilities to places that paid a proper salary with benefits, income tax, etc.
Some places pay bonuses for repeat business and other incentives. Think about it - if a client repeats regularly with the same MPA, then she must be the reason that client keeps coming back. The MPA probably deserves some kind of recognition for bringing that repeat revenue to the MP.
And the list of exceptional circumstances goes on and on.
Like any business today, those who are flexible and able to adapt to the changing market conditions will do well.

At Hands from Heaven, we've always had our prices set up so that the lady gets the most tip in the room for the time and our door fees are lower. Many people who have questioned our price structure saying our fees are much higher than other places, but what's higher is actually the tip that the lady receives. There is much about the business behind closed doors that is not discussed online, such as incentives, fines, shift fees or VIP Memberships. I figure as long as the customer is happy and the lady is happy with her work environment and the money she is making, that's what matters the most

i would have figured the Spa gets 100% of the door fee, and the girl gets 100% of the room fee.

how does the Spa know what session the client took in the room?

Not at all spas. The fees are insane at some places!!! At Muse they keep their $$, what a client selects is between them. We set up specific systems so that our ladies earn maximum $$$ and have full support/rewards. Health insurance, bonuses, commissions, financial planning, etc.

If I were the spa owner I would simplify the rate structure. Keep 100% of the door fee and take a % of the session fee. Of course you encounter an agency theory issue (honesty of the the attendant in disclosing what type of session was paid for). But I'm sure most owners have an idea on what % of clients take bodyslide,NR and topless.

It is weird that you need to pay 2 prices anyway. I thought too the door fee was for the spa owner and the service fee for the mpa so splitting might make sense but as it seems there is no clear split.

I always thought that the spa gets 100% of the door fee, and the lady receives 100% of the 'tip', but I suppose when you're in the business, you can modify such terms to suit each case.

Regarding the posts in this thread, there seems to be some confusion. When I first started seeing my favourite MPA 5 years ago, I was paying her $100 for an 30 minutes session. Later the sessions became longer and longer, but I was still paying her $100. She never complained, but she was always very happy to see me. She moved to another MP and I started to pay her $120 because I felt like it. Several weeks ago, she told me that she got 10 dollars for every 30 minutes, which meant she got 20 dollars out of the 80 dollars door fee. Her tip money is only 40 dollars out of the $120 I gave her. I was kind of naive on how much money she was actually making.

When I asked her how does the owner know how long the sessions are, she told me the MP has security cameras that record everybody coming in and out. I was surprised to hear that, but she told me that owner always delete the tape.
