music for a rock newbie?

Im trying to convince my friend that rock music doesn't suck, I'm making her a CD of songs she might like, but I'm running out of ideas, she likes reliant K, and skillet and that's pretty much it so far. any suggestions?

The truth is that I have had more luck by having my friends listen to a single song and then playing it again for them later. After a while they get took by it. I have had people who hated Rush end up loving them, people who despised metal end up buying it, and people who who thought that rap was king, hum along using this tactic. Remember this axiom for life 'Enthusiasm is contagious'. If they never bite them oh well, it is their loss.

You'll never convince anyone that way...

Take her to a concert, watch a good rock movie with her (there are a couple...), something that heps her get a more visceral experience.

Frankly, if someone doesn't like something, they usually won't give it a fair try. You could make me a tape of Reliant K and Skillet, for example, and I probably wouldn't listen to it and would dislike it if I did...

She doesn't have to like the same music as you; it's really okay.
