does any one play music, if so do you have licences,as i have just come across somthing that says when playing music a fee is payabe is this right? or does it matter?

That is a good question and not sure of the answer I will be watching the thread for a more knowledgable answer from someone...

I use all sorts of music when with clients and also when teaching/lecturing and I have never paid a fee for doing this nor am I really bothered.. I think that the focus of the PRS is mainly bigger entities like Radio Stations etc... so the time and effort and cost in prosecuting you as a individual would not be economic to them or good in terms of PR...

Technically speaking you do need a licence and it's the law. Who is going to grass you up anycase? Doesn't the music relaxation CD belong to the client???

I found some royalty free music from a new company called silenciomusic. They have samples of their music on their site and sell as downloads or cds. I'm very happy with my recent purchase.

Their web site is www.silenciomusic.co.uk/ They are really helpful too!!

As I'm starting out I don't want to be bankrupt before I have any clients, so finding good royalty free music is much better than spending £212 on 2 licences.
