My husband is embarassed about getting a massage?

I enjoy my weekly massages and he is willing to try a massage-however he is nervous about maybe having a "Natural reaction" to being massaged. Has any other MT dealt with this? I would think this might happen to a lot of men and the MT would think nothing of it--am I correct?

Correct. Your husband has nothing to be embarrassed about, tell him to go for it.

You are very correct. The only thing is the MT might think she isn't doing the massage correctly if he's wide awake and turned on. Did you let him know that it will more than likely put him to sleep and also my hubby was kinda nervous his first time. I had him drink some chamomile tea and that calmed him down so much that he messed up my massage time with all the snoring lol.

If he is concerned about this being an issue, I suggest you find a therapist who could try the following options to ease him into massage:

1) Allow you to be present for the session, maybe you presence will make him less nervous?
2) Try a shorter session, maybe only 30 min on the back?
3) Perhaps try a session with clothing, and the therapist can work over the clothing.
4) Set him up with a male therapist, this should alleviate any feelings of nervousness. Remind him massage is therapeutic and having a male therapist is no different except for gender.
