My Muslim BF won't introduce me to his family?

I love my bf of one year so much but I'm getting fed up with him avoiding the topic of my meeting his family. He told me that it would happen by the end of the summer but that time is approaching and nothing. He has said that his mother would want him with a Muslim girl (I'm not) but that he doesn't care. I keep bringing it up with him recently but he just tells me to leave him alone and not stress him out. We're talking about moving in together but this is stopping me from feeling ready for that. I don't want to give up on us but I don't know what to do.
Allysa you're right, he's never introduced a girl to his family before- I guess that's a big hurdle too.

I think you should respect his wishes. Maybe he isn't at that point where he wants you to meet his parents. You need to give him time, and not pressure him into doing something he isn't ready for you. Maybe he's never introduced a girl to his family and this is a big step for him, you never know. But don't give up on him. It might be worth the wait.

Well, I am telling you this from personal expiercences his mom might be a little religious, and in islam it is kind of reqiured to marry someone of the same religion, so maybe that is making him nervous because he doesn't want his mom to react in a way that will push you away. So tell him that you need to meet his mom sooner or later or you will not move in with him. Let him know that whatever happens, happens. Whether she likes you or hateyou that nothing will chang between you guys

seems as if he's a bit ashamed. it could be that he doesn't want you meeting them, or he doesn't want them to meet you.

I know exactly what youre going through! My fiance is muslim, thats where my last name comes from. Its really not as easy as it sounds to be introduced. Some families cut off or shun their sons or daughters as a result of this. Its very hard, you have to understand the position that he is in. Yes, its not ok for him to lie, but he has a really hard choice to make. A lot of Muslim families are not welcoming of outside races because they have strict beliefs. If you love him like you say you do, converting will make the process go a lot smoother. If this is something you want, you have to meet him half way
