It's never a bad idea to keep SOAP notes. It helps to follow the client from one visit to the next and know what progress you are making. Are there new complaints this visit compared to last. Did you give "homework" to do and want to ask about it. Does the client prefer you not work on their abs. We can't possibly remember all this information. In order to best serve the clients, SOAP notes are a good idea. I would ask the establishment why they don't keep SOAP notes. if you are in a high volume tourist area, then perhaps it is not as important. If it's just pure laziness, then I would be very careful to scrutinize the practices of the establishment...in areas of ethics, cleanliness, procedures, legalities, etc.
