The point of the story is the guys use anything to get the gringos alone, just so they can kick their ass and rob them. I also found it hilarious as hell that anybody would fall for that scam, and the wording made me laugh," you want to 'fock my seester," because I could just picture that in my head with some drunk American tourist saying yeah man, where is your seester? No it's not to hard to imagine, and like the author said, they used other means to get guys alone, usually some other vice, like drugs, or homosexual sex.
I just wonder why American tourist would fall victim to such a scam when pussy, drugs or even homosexual sex is so readily available in Tijuana. I just the grass is always greener on the other side? I have heard from good sources that scams like this have happened to a few mongers in the past, even some on prostitution boards?
I just about never talk to anybody in the streets in TJ. If they talk to me in English I tell them I don't speak English and walk away, if they talk to me in Spanish, I tell them I don't speak Spanish, and leave before they could switch the language. I'm always just waving people off, or shaking my head...NO NO NO! I do have a soft spot for Indian ladies with small kids, I usually give them money. I felt bad as I was leaving TJ and walking back to the states, somebody just asked me the time, and I ignored him. I then said to myself why did I do that?
Here is a link and book review of the book "Across the Wire" I like those type of religious groups, they don't preach Jesus saves or try to them the people to their church, as they consider themselves God's machine and feed the people, helping them out and building shelter for them.
