Naming my business

Hi, newbie here I love this board, what a great resource. My question: How did you go about naming your business? I'm having a hard time for some reason. Did you have a process? Thanks!

I didn't.... I just go by my professional name.  I have been playing with the prospect of naming my business, though.  It's a toss-up between two names.  One might not actually be available.My boyfriend just "came up" with his by playing with words... no divine inspiration there.  His is called "Therapeutix', and his logo design is DiVinci's "Study of Man".  Honestly, I'm not bowled over by the name, but it was written in stone by the time we met, so I really couldn't say much about it.My friend and fellow MT was inspired by a box top that had printed on the top, "Fragile.... Handle With Care" and a hand with a heart in the palm.  Thus was her ENTIRE inspiration!  Her business is called "Handle With Care", and her logo includes the word "Fragile" and the same heart/hand design from the box.  She is a Christian, and truly believes that God just "gave" it to her.So many people have the  words "Hand",  "Hands",  "Body", "Touch", etc. in their business name.  While there's nothing wrong with that, and it is relative to massage therapy, there are also other options.  One of my name possibilities was inspired by a candleholder etched with soothing words such as "Peace", "Relax", "Tranquility", etc.  Another inspiration could come from your location; if near a park, for example, a street name, or a landmark of some sort.  How about a book or movie title?  A famous one-liner?  A lyric in a song?  Your name? (A well known and very prosperous salon here is called "Salon Senoj"; Very French sounding, right?  OOh-la-la?  Oui oui?  Now, spell "Senoj" backwards....LOL)  The possibilities are limitless... just quietly ask the Universe to guide you, and it will!

Naming my business

Traci, thanks for your reply, it game me a lot to think about. One name keeps coming into my head. "Imagine Massage"...what do you think? I want a great name, as everyone does I suppose I would love a unique name that still lets the world know what I actually do.

I would say that is getting awfully close, but it lacks a certain "flow".  But if you like the word Imagine, why not continue to play with it a little?For instance:1) Imagine >>Imagination"Imagination" Therapeutic Massage"Imagination Studio" Massage Therapy"Creative Imagination" Therapeutic Massage...and so on...OR 2)  Try other languages:In Spanish:  "Imaginacion" (accent over the "o"), or "La Imaginacion" (The Imagination), or "Imaginacion Creativa" (Creative Imagination");Italian:  Immagini (Imagine)Anything but German (Phantasie.....LOL)Just a couple of examples to get you going.  You might not like these either, but at least it gives you some ideas to toss around.Good luck with your creativity!
