I've noticed a few ads for this, and had at least one person ask me about this device. I finally paid attention to the ad tonight, and checked the website. (necklineslimmer.com if anyone is interested.) Is it just me, or is this "physiotherapist" contributing to forward head posture with this device? Most of my people have hypertonic neck flexors that do not need to be further facilitated.

Am I missing something, or does this look to be as bad of an idea as I think it is?

Well, misspelling fascia gets my goat a bit:

This is because the underlying muscles are attached to the skin by a connective tissue called facia.

About the product, though, I actually wonder if it would help with forward head posture. As best I could tell from the video clip, and from simulating the same movement myself, it seems as though you would get relaxation in the suboccs. from the chin tucking movement.

I'd be curious to hear some other insight on this...

It looks to me like the device rests on the clavicle, so that to operate it you cannot have that forward head posture, you need to keep your chin tucked.....

Note the before and after pictures - they're a perfect example of the "blow your gut out before/suck your gut in after" diet pill pictures. For the most part, the before pictures are taken with the persons head tucked at a slight off angle, some without any make up on. In the afters the women are holding their heads higher, some wearing better make up, and jutting their jaws forward - to the point where one woman appears to have developed an under bite at some point during her use of the product.

Looks like nothing more than someone's idea for a "get rich quick" scheme.

I was expecting to see an elastic neck brace like those waist slimmers, and immediately put it off. Why hide the fat when you can lose it by exercising? Well the neckline slimmer got me there. Unfortunately from my understanding in weight training you can't spot reduce where the fat comes off. Like people that do a million ab workouts...I just see strong neck flexors under fat happening, and as everyone else has said eventually the forward head posture.

This isn't the first contraption of its sort, I remember seeing Rosie O'Donnell (a llllloooooonnnnnggggg time ago) demonstrate something similar on her daytime show. Anyone else remember that?
