I work at a wellness center Friday, Sat and everyother Sunday. Which was fine but I was looking for more. In my search I came across an opportunity to start my own office which is great! I will be there Tues and Thursday. During this time I was offer a job at a chiro office its only $25 an hour but the shifts are either 2 to 4 hours long and they only offer 1/2 treatments and the pay is guaranteed. Perfect at first but then the days conflicted they wanted Tues and every other Sat. I am not will to give up Tues and explained why to them. I didnt care for their comments but chiro bashing is for another post. I decided to give up my shift at the wellness center on Sat. Its not a guaranteed money and the shift takes up my whole Sat and right now its slow. Plus working Tue, Wed (house calls), Thur, Fri, Sat & Sun everyother week in my book is too much. Everything seemed to fit perfect. The way I arranged it I would actually have off everyother weekend completely & I was loving the idea. The chiro office asked me if I could fill in this past Thurs from 11am-3pm. Fine Tuesday the receptionist called and asked if I can come in at 12. I was a little annoyed but agreed, I asked her if they make a habit of this, she assured me no so I figured it was just cause I was filling in. Wed the chiro calls me and asks if I can come in at 11:30 now. I guess he heard my tone when I said fine cause he said we can iron everything out then. Thursday comes...they are expanding the office so there is construction going on the entire time outside of my room. Drilling, saw cutting, banging the noise was bad enough not to mention the fumes and dust! I stepped out of the room and told them if I was here for a massage I would demand my money back! So they moved me to another room doing massage on a chiro table now with a pounding headache is not exactly fun! When I finally spoke to the chiro regarding the hours he told me it was a misunderstanding and he figured I didnt want to sit around doing nothing for 3 hours. I told him when you are paying me a flat hourly rate regardless of the clients I do not care. Our agreement was a four hour shift thats $100 regardless of appointments by you cutting the shift becouse you did not book the appointments all it does it takes money out of my pocket. I nicely asked him not to insult me by telling me he cut the shift to spare me sitting around. The day was finally over and everything was fine. The chiro just called me and asked if I call change the Sat I alternate...I told him no I gave up my shift already at the wellness center and was looking forward to having everyother weekend completely off. Im starting to wonder if I should just tell this chiro office forget everything. Do you guys think they follow the "Ricchio's Rules" I dont know what to do, money is really tight right now, Im just starting an office so its going to be a bit slow to start and I already gave up a shift. Any advice?Sorry this post turned into a vent more then a questionThanks
