Need Help marketing chair massage

Hi! I am an LMT in a seasonal area, and I thought that chair massage may be a good avenue for year round work. The problem is I have no idea how to market it, or where to market it! I need some ideas to set up a brochure/packet for prospective clients, and I need some ideas on how to get them handed out. Do you cold call? For people with more experience in this area-where have you had the most success? Any ideas, thoughts or advice will be appreciated! Thanks

It depends where you are and what drives the seasonal business. The beach, boating, nightlife, events?

Our Miami operations have a lot of MTs who work like crazy 7 months out of the year, save half of what they make and take it easy, take vacation and do what work comes their way in the off season. That takes great discipline to manage, but it fits in with what is happening around them. Swimming against the current takes a great deal of energy.

Chair massage can be a long selling cycle - it can take months to get a decision made. You probably don't want to take away from your prime earning season by spending time marketing chair massage to local outlets that may or may not pay off at sometime down the road.

If local chair targets are also seasonal, though the probably really need your services in the busy season, are probably thinking they are too busy to pay attention to you or offer your services.

I do chair massage. I agree with Relax, it takes a long time to build credibility. Is there anyone in your area that already gets corporate gigs or special events that you could work for at the beginning?

I joined the Chamber of Commerce. i went to every networking event that I could find. I have done massages for free, I have spoken at charities. I have cold called. However, if they know about the benefits of chair massage, they probably already have someone. If they don't, they are not likely to be open to new information in a cold call, either over the phone or in person.

Perhaps the best thing would be to develop a brochure - Google "Chair Massage" and you will get a whole bunch of websites (including mine, I hope ) which will give you ideas for a print brochure. Perhaps you should get these out to existing local clients first.
