please can anyone help?

i have an interview tomorrow with a salon, and im clueless about what sort of questions i will be asked? can anyone shed any light on this, as i havent got very long to prepare (plus im at college tonite and work full time tomorrow and the interview is tomorrow evening!). [sm=mecry.gif]

Know one knows that except the person asking the questions, please stop worrying as you will be fine, they will probably ask you about your training, qualifications, insurance and experience and want to see the paperwork to back up your answers, they might also ask for a demo which is the easy bit ;-)

Dear Periwinkle, congratulations on getting the interview! Oddly enough I have just been along to a salon for an interview myself and I took along all my certificates for them to look at. The questions were not particularly scarey and I was just myself I gave the lady who runs the salon a short treatment too, and showed her the sorts of consultation forms I use.

Hey, best of luck for tomorrow and as Paul says don't sweat it! They are just people who need a service that you can offer.

i cant help but sweat it, im really scared. i dont know if they want to employe me on a salary or me rent a room fromt them. guess i will find out tomorrow.

Hello again!

Arrangements will vary but in that case I would not be an employee. They would take 40% of my earnings. It sounds a lot but they provide the clients, equipment and reception. I am a self employed person so it's a good arrangement for me. I expect that most therapists will typically work just a few hours per week in a salon on a self employed basis.

You are talking to a fellow worrier! However I am well aware that I am doing it and I have little pep talks with myself (goddness they will come and cart me away one of these days) about what worrying helps me achieve and how I can turn it round and be more sure of myself. Have you done a post to the brilliant Life Coaching people to see if they can give you any pointers on breaking habits such as worrying? It's worth consulting them for idea unless of course you actually enjoy worrying

Hi. Most won't want to employ you, you will usually be self-employed and they will rent you a room or take a percentage of what you earn.

Remember, the interview works both ways, you aren't at their mercy. They should want you as much as you want them if things are right on both sides. Have a bit of confidence and this will help you. You are offering them the chance of having a therapist who will give a good service. Ask away with your questions, be yourself, talk about your training and what you want to achieve etc etc.

hello there,

thanks for all your help, just an update, they offered me the job/room there and then! said i seemed really motovated and wanted someone like that in their salon!!! they are also giving me training in all areas of beauty thereapy!!!!! plus doing all my advertising and giving me a receptionist! i have a guarteed one day a week, but with the chance to work 6 days if i wanted to! did wanna work in a couple of salons tho and plus need to figure out how much the tax man is gonna take from me.
