Negative Energy

Hello,

Last week I had a client for IHM, the treatment was a voucher she had won and used this for her IHM.

The treatment went well. I flicked away any negative energy from her and myself, but afterwards I felt really down and all week I feel as though things are really going wrong for me both at home and at work. I have felt really depressed all week.

I was fine before I treated her.

Could I be carrying her negative energy?

And if I am how do I get rid of this.

Please help.

Hi Desi Girl

it sounds like you could be. I can't give and advice from first hand experience to help you right now, but would suggest you search the www for grounding or cleansing techniques that appeal to you.

What I would suggest is you have a routine immediately after treatments that you do in the future. As soon as you finish excuse yourself ("I'm just going to wash the oil from my hands", for example) and go to the bathroom and do your stuff. What works for me is a thorough hand wash in cold water, then shaking my hands vigorously, then shaking my arms, shoulders, head, hips for 10 - 15 seconds at least, then shake my leg / foot, then the other one. I do this while knowing in myself that I'm leaving the energies I've picked up from the treatment behind - ie. think about what your doing and be confident it's working.

A drink of water's good too.

When I was training I felt physically sick just doing a pre-treatment consultation and had to go home there and then! Horrible. But it taught me the lesson. I've never had a problem since doing the cold hand wash and ridiculous shaking dance

Some suggest things like visualising a shower of gold rain pouring over and through them as they treat but, being a man, I can't do two things at once ....

You probably know all about protection, grounding, walls of safety etc etc but I am going to say something quite contrary to all that.

Drop The Fight!

Take 20 minutes half an hour to relax into this drain. Rather than worrying about it, just sit and let this 'negative' energy in. Open your heart to it, stop the fight. Your heart is such a marvelous space it transforms gross into sublime.

The worry is making it worse, your focus is on it, thats what is causing things to go wrong. Open yourself up. 'Negative energy' fully embraced becomes benign and positive. Nothing in the flow hurts.

Doing so, not only your own perception of negative energy will melt away, you will feel much lighter afterwards

It is certainly possible to be affected by a client's energy, but I doubt that such an effect could have serious implications which can last for an entire week. There might be something else going on in your life. I have had clients who affected my energy, but this is a temporary effect, not a lasting one. What is possible is that a bad therapist-client chemistry can trigger something in you which is already there, but no single client should be able to be solely responsible for a protracted bad state of mind. What I am thinking is that the interaction might have been a trigger, but not the only or main causative factor.
