New Course in Reflexology

Hi im a new member so obviously im new to all of this.

Ive just started a Reflexology course and im finding it quite hard. When the college decides to write up our material ,do they always have to use words that i have to keep looking up, in order to understand what im reading. It takes forever![>:]
Im on a section about CHI Vital Life Energy at the moment, can anyone help with any ref books that will make it all abit clearer? God if i find thishard, im wondering how hard i will find the whole course. Please help!

You should be able to key any unusual words/phrases (in "") into the Search facility on your ISP page - I just put in CHI etc and was given about 8000 pages! All the information is 'out there'. I am quite thankful I learnt reflexology 28 years ago, when all we were taught was reflexology- with no need to 'pad out' the subject matter! I notice that some of the (advanced' courses nowadays even go into depth about how to fold towels!!!

hi steve (is it?)[/align][/align]i see form your other post you are doing a stonebridge course. to be honest, i'd not recommend distant learning for reflexology or massage, if you have never done or have very little bodywork experience.[/align][/align]however, thats the course you are doing, so... [/align][/align]chi vital energy is of course part of what we are as humans... we are energy beings, thats how we work. of course chi is just another name for it, so calling it that in one sentence is a bit daft anyway . yes its good to know about it but do you need to have full knowledge to be a reflexologist? well... no! it is not part of the basic concept of reflexology... reflexology is a mechanical therapy in the first instance. many people studying reflex or massage as a first time bodywork subject cannot feel the subtle energies anyway, but does this mean they cant give a good treatment? course it doesnt![/align][/align]as jabba says, put chi into a search engine and you will get enough information to do what you gotta do. but surely, the teaching notes you have would have covered it anyway?[/align][/align][/align][/align]do you mean when you have submitted work and thats the feedback? if you dont understand what they are saying, tell them! just because its a correspondance course, doesnt mean their feedback can be sloppy. you need to understand what they are saying to take it on board. you paid good money for the course... get the most from it.[/align][/align]as for work afterwards... as things stand at the moment, if you are a good therapist, you will get work. most people couldnt care less who you qualified with, providing you good and professional etc etc and insured. [/align][/align]however, sooner or later, regulations will come in and at that time, i would imagine correspondance course certificates could well be in the balance... but no one knows for sure at this time the ramifications of the regulations.[/align][/align]good luck![/align]

good luck wait till u start your case studies, my exams with the AOR is tomorrow, it has been a long year but the 6 client 10 treatment each, all the research, write ups, conclusions has been a nightmare.
