New here, any advise appreciated......

Hey Guys,

First of all a quick introduction, i'm a 34 year old living in London and 7 weeks ago i wokeup unable to lift my head off the pillow!! The pain was in my neck, head, shoulders, arms.............it is quite unbearable pain!! My left arm is also very weak and i'm unable to lift it up or reach out! It sometimes feels like i have toothache or earache!! I went to a chiropractor who told me i'd twisted my neck but in 2 sessions i'd be fine!! After 6 sessions i was no better off in fact i was worse!! I ended up going privately to a physio who examined me and said straight away i need an MRI!! I had that done this week and saw the consultant last night..............I have a prolapsed disc in my neck and a tear and compressed nerves!! He's put me on a drug called Pregabalin..........Has anyone else been on this drug? I also need to have a test done to check for nerve damage!

I guess ijust wanna hear from anyone who has been through similar to me and what course of action did you take? When i asked the consultant what would happen if nerves were involved he just said "then we need to talk"..........Would that mean an OP!?

Best to be patient

Be very dubious to anyone who claims they can fix you within a few sessions. Manipulation perfermed by chiropractors in the cervical region can be very dangerous especially if there is a disk prolapse. For every person they fix (usually by luck) they screw up 5 others. Wait and see what the results from the consultant show up. Hopefully they will rule out anything major and then then they will advise on treatment accordingly

Ian,

I'm not a chiropractor, but your statement does seem a little Anti-Chiro. Perhaps you have some researched evidence to back up your figures on this? I would prefer to see facts rather than statements that can scare people without justification.
