New Kitten...Im a newbie?

hi
i got a female calico kitten
shes about mybe 6 weeks
i got her from ppl on the nxt street
they were free
i could tell there were careless owners

she has fleas and ticks
she at mi friends house right now for the weekend
she has mi kittens brother
she gave her a bath and is bein spoiled

my mom got a litter box, toys, food, etc..
shes at my friends because im at my dads this weekend.

how can i bond with her and stuff
any tips would be sweet

Awww best thing to do is play with her, with pieces of string and shoelaces and stuff, keep her in your room for a while where you can have alone time. The best thing overall to do though, is to keep her in your room and let her sleep on your bed for the first few nights you get her. its like if you have a baby, the baby wont know its mother if it doesnt spend time with the mother when it first comes out. good luck

k so u just play with her alot every day and at first if shes scared of u just sit in the same room as her every day and eventually she will know that u r not a threat and begin to trust you. then pet and play with her

Be the only person to feed her, make sure you give her the space she needs, when she wants it. When she comes to you for love, give it unconditionally. Keep her litter box clean, and play with her whenever she wants.

Little trick, cats are nocturnal, so try to change her sleeping habits by playing with her a lot right before you go to bed, and she may sleep through most of the night, and not try to wake you up to play at ridiculous hours.

ok, well we had a lot of cat's at one time. but anyway if she is really skiddish just pet her be sweet and once she get's use to u you should bond alot with her. hope this helps

It's a good idea to play with yarn and bells with Pumpkin. Give her lots of love. Be sure to give Pumpkin a lot of attention. I got my kitten at 8 weeks and I did these things and he's just the sweetest little fur ball!

well if u think that pumpkin is being spoiled then tell them to chill for a bit.
and if you get on the floor and play around with her for a bit she'll like that i know my kitty does you can see if your mom got her a toy she can play with and throw it and let her run and attack it and that sould keep her happy for awile.

Cats and kittens love those cat wand toys. Try a bunch of different toy types to see what she likes, and spend time playing with her daily. If you find a treat that she is really fixated on, you could try teaching her commands like "sit" - but this only works for some cats. Most cats are not food-motivated enough to focus.

As far as veterinary needs, see if she has vaccine records from her previous owners. If not, then she needs to go to the vet this week and start her shots, and continue them every 3 weeks until she is 4 months old. She will also need her stool checked for parasites and regular dewormings. You will also need to get her on a flea spot-on product from the vet (the pet-store products are not effective and can be toxic) because flea baths don't keep the fleas off her for long. She can start Revolution now, or Frontline Plus in a couple of weeks.

And you should get her spayed by the time she is five months old.
