New massage location opens in Fortuna - Eureka Times-Standard

Fortuna has become the fourth Humboldt County location where Certified Massage Practitioner Tessa Knight now is seeing clients.

A recent ribbon-cutting welcomed Knight to 1100 Main Street, Suite C, in the same building and above Bartow’s Jewelry. Knight got her start in Shelter Cove and has other private locations in Garberville and Redway, as well as Sebastopol in Sonoma County.

Knight said she chose to open a location for her business in Fortuna “because it’s a lovely town that commands respect and feels safe.”

Knight specializes in a deep form of gentle tissue massage and is a practitioner of Deep Bodywork and Esalen massage techniques. She has had her Massage Practitioner certificate since 2002 and opened her business in 2011. She prefers to be referred to as a bodyworker rather than a massage practitioner.

Knight’s business is open by appointment and she provides her services in a safe environment.

“I work with three windows open for outdoor ventilation, which provides fresh, crisp air to my warm indoor space,” Knight said.

“I lean toward longer sessions, giving me the ability to tend to my clients’ needs along with less traffic in and out of the office,” she added.

She noted that she and the county also require masks, temperature checks and hand sanitizer.

“I have a private bathroom and am the sole practitioner for the (Fortuna) location,” she added.

And she disinfects her offices after each client.
