Hey Ken Now still in Progreso... Its Nice And Quiet but not boring like being stuck in the village of Chitzen Itza overnight or Valladodid... I wish I could be here one more night... I had the best Hotel on My Trip here The Hotel Colonial for a 150 Pesos a Night and even small swimming pool a few feet outside of my room. I ate last night Two Tacos and a Gringa at Los Tacos Comprades. It is not open now. Even If I get out of here late by 4 or 5. I doubt it will not open until evening. I would be tempted to even stay here overnight again but Do not want to miss my early afternoon bus to Cancun.

At least you didn't visit Merida over a religious holiday like Easter (Pascua). You can still get alcohol on Pascua but you have to go to a place that serves food and have it with your meal. Standalone bars cannot serve you. Yes, Merida is conservative but sex still goes on behind the scenes and out of sight of most tourists. Remember that families ride up and down the Paseo in horse drawn carriages and they want to preserve that family image and their hypocritical Catholicism.
