New to the business

I have not started to print out business cards b/c one i have no location yet. but i have applied to this spa(nothing yet). will it be ok to make up cards with the name i want to call my (business) even though i will be working for someoneelse? passing them out is to get my name out there and mabye get some clients (that i know) i can travel to.
am i making any sense this is all so new but exciting too. t100

I would not put the spa on my crds though, just my contact info

Some spas insist on non-compete agreements. In which case you would not be allowed to have your own business outside the spa. And it would not be allowed for the spa clients to know you offer a mobile service.

But you can set up your own business, and advertise it with business cards, etc... if your employer is aware of your self-employment and does not have an issue with it.

Even if your employer is aware of your business and does not have a problem with it, you would not be allowed to hand out your own cards with your business name on them to clients you see at the spa.

I am in that situation and what I do when a client at the spa wants "my card" is I get one of the spa's cards and I write my name on it. I could get personalized spa cards that have my name and the spas logo printed on them, but I'd have to pay for it out of pocket and I don't care to.
