I don't condemn the black teen for trying to stab her neighbour.
She was trying trying to 'keep it real'.

But this video shows that the officer never attempted to physically restrain the teen.
When my father was a cop, he would beat the shit out of people EVERY WEEK.

He was big, strong, tough and could fight really well.
My dad once, quite literally, busted up a person's face who was biting him during an arrest.
The person needed so much dental work and recovery, that my father was sued for assault.

But today, and the point I am about to make is that officers are no longer big, tough, mean fighters, as they once were.
That's why you see so many police shoot first, before they even try to get physical.

Of course, the officer was justified in shooting the teen.
She was trying to stab her neihbour, after all.

But my point is still valid:

If you hire weak, physically incapable officers, you will get more shootings.
You will get less physical apprehension because the officers aren't capable of doing so.
