Newbie laptop internet question?

I am getting my first laptop - I want to be able to access the internet wirelessly from it, I have friends who do it with their laptops when they're near a DSL line - what do I need to get along with this laptop to be able to do that (or does it come with what I need)?

Sorry folks, I'm getting mixed signals. Some people say "LAN (802.11b/g/n) is enough" and others are saying I have to get other stuff (and one buffoon can't spell "facet" in his pathetic attempt at an insult). So do I need to get something else or is what this laptop comes with enough? That's what I'm trying to figure out. Thanks buddies.

If you want to just access internet wirelessly when it's available, then your laptop will already have all you need. If you want access no matter hwere you are, then you need to see your cell phone dealer and inquire about their air cards which run around $40.00 a month (US)

dude, i'm using that computer right now, and i love it. Did you ever try to set up a wireless network? or ask one of your friends if you can't figure it out. It should be very simple to make one.

most of the new laptops come with the card inside of it so you should be fine.

it has wireless internet receiver built in already so theres no need for a wireless card. the only thing you might need is an ethernet cable to plug into a modem

What i do, with my laptop(which I am using,atm) You must A) Have a wireless router/modem or
B) Get one of those cards from rodgers.
I haven't even checked out the laptop.
and yes it comes with a built in wireless or should.
If not contact bestbuy and ask them for something that should help.

It comes with the Laptop. You see where it says

Built-in high-speed wireless LAN (802.11b/g/n)
Lets you wirelessly connect to the Internet.

Pretty much all laptops can connect to the internet wirelessly, including this one.

It's built in.
But in order to be wireless you need a router for the internet signal (for the laptop to pick up)
