Newbie question

For those not familiar with the way things work in the GTA:

Is the $$$ for a session usually discussed openly/directly with the MPA after she enters the room? How specific does one get, or are we to just go by "standard" rates as posted here on massageplanet.net? I don't want to be surprised by extra $$ at the end, but also don't want to break unspoken etiquette either...

You pay the door fee when you walk into the spa. It's best to let the attendant raise the question of in-room extras and their charges. They will ask, so don't worry about them not getting to the question. Some will ask right up front and some will ask once you get comfortable during the massage. I've had both experiences. If you ask first you may come across as being pushy.

Also, if the attendant offers "extras", don't be afraid to ask how much according to your length of time for the session. That way you'll be able to make a decision as to what you want.

That's the usual routine. But it's not always true. At few places I've paid for the whole deal after the session.



Again, not always true. At some places, if you don't ask, you won't get offered anything either. Or it will be asked right at the end with only a few minutes left.



Call me pushy. I know why I'm there. She knows why I'm there. I don't think under most circumstances that it would be considered pushy.

Not quite sure which spas you're going to but if the attendant doesn't raise the question of extras I would assume she either doesn't offer them or doesn't enjoy them if she does offer them (ie mechanical). Either way, I don't think I'd want extras from an attendant that isn't into the session.

On the other hand, we may not be going to the same type of spas either. It's well known which spas I favour and they always offer and I never have to ask. The extras are where the attendant makes her money so it confuses me a little what attendants wouldn't offer first (unless she doesn't find the client attractive or is tired).
