Newbie Wireless Router user Question: Does it has to be always connected to my PC's

Ethernet Port? I am new on the networking world, so I have a question regarding the instructions given by a wireless internet router manufacturer. I haven't bought any routers yet, I just downloaded the manual so I could see its specifications, how it works, the configuration process, etc.

The router manual explains how to connect the Ethernet cable to the router, step by step. However, there is a final step that says I should connect my PC to the router using an Ethernet cable to one of the available Ethernet ports on the router.

The thing is, it doesn't says afterwards if this final step is only for router configuration purposes, and if the Ethernet cable should be disconnected from my PC Ethernet port after the routher has been set up.

Since the main reason I bought the router was to get rid of the LAN cable connected to my PC, I wonder, what purpose would it serve to me if I have to keep my PC connected to a LAN cable? :-/

The router I am talking about is a D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N Router (in case you want to check it out for answer purposes).

If your used wired then yes the ethernet cable has to be connected to your pc from the router or you will have no internet access.

You could use wireless instead which requires no cables

You do need to keep the Ethernet cable to the router for it to send a wireless signal!
