Newbies And Low Cost Bars

I have been to lower cost bars with my Gringo friends. Mostly all first timers. (Don't know why but most are first/last timers. ) They usually want to go back to Del Rey, Key Largo, and Hotel Bars. They do not like the "Tico" Bars. I go to Costa Rica often enough I must watch my spending. And, of course, I am wanting a "Special" chica. Any observations by other Members?

I go to tico bars every trip and post on a lot of places under the MP's section that I visit.I also visit often and have to watch my budget to be able to do that.There are diamonds in the rough out there.Searching is half the fun.rbc100

Royboy, If you are looking to cut your spending in half than the RBC100 list is a must have. You will be amazed at how much you will save. True the places may not be as beautiful as the upscale bars and the chicas are not all 9's and 10's. If your main objective is to have fun and shoot some bullets than the RBC list is for you!

Thanks. Good to know I am not the only one that has to think about the money part. Another consideration too is the fun of going to new bars. RBC List? Sounds familiar but I can't find it. Can you steer me in the right direction or provide a link?

Do not know why they would become last timers but understand the rest. Newcomers are certainly more comfortable in 'tourist" hangouts than tico hangouts.

RBC and other guys have ferreted out a lot of tico places and posted them for the adventurous( doubt that they found them on their first trip) but still most CRT guys stay the course of the BM, KL and ZB, Oasis, Idem, etc.

First timers want to maximize their experience and the best way to do that is to stick to the formula, time enough to get adventurous on future trips.

My post is in MP's bars and clubs three down from the top.I know I go for local flavor but did experience a tico bar my first international monger trip ever which happened to be in San Jose because I already knew I liked the courtry from visiting as a tourist years earlyier. I had a very memorable experience with a hot nica who was the star in the girl on girl stage show at LeBella Masion a few months before they closed down.This was on the last night of my first hobbying trip and I have returned frequently since.As I always say the local places aren't for everyone but if you want to try, venure out and give it a shot.Ticos have aways been very freindly to me in the clubs and I have been treated well.Just take taxis at night because many aren't in safe neighboorhoods.rbc100
