Nice place for dinner

Can anybody recommend a place around the Patong area for a better than average dining experience? Nice ambiance and food and perhaps some soft music.

Maybe up to about 1500 bht each.

Was gonna say 9th Floor, but a fellow Belgian BM beat me to it. Also very nice is Catch Beach Club in Surin.

In Surin I can hardly recommend “PLA” SEA FOOD restaurant. It won’t be as expensive as in Catch Beach Club and the atmosphere even better. The tables and chairs are just on the sand and the restaurant and even the sea is beautifully lighting. It is the Thai-Austrian restaurant (rather beach restaurant) so you can expect really good service and nice conversation with owner (young Austrian girl). It is especially good to visit PLA after 9pm when it is dark. Very romantic if you plan to eat with your girlfriend.

I guess owner is not the young girl. Owner of Pla sea food is also owner of K-hotel (and restaurant) opposite Taipan.

She was there everyday in the evening and I saw her several times during the day in swimsuit talking to costumer and having fun. Moreover she is Austrian that’s why I thought that she is the owner or maybe the daughter of the owner Anyway good place to go.

The restaurant at BYD Lofts is a great setting for dinner, not sure if they have music though (bad memory). Also, what about the Austrian hotel (is it K-Hotel?) where they have the shark in the tank at the entrance, it's pretty good for a nice dinner too.

Not at Patong Condominiums - Isn't it upstairs at the Sky Inn just off Rat u Thid 200 Pee Road?

My GF just asks the tuktuk driver to drive Patong Condo and it works. If I am going alone, I walk. So can't explain it otherwise.
