Nightlife around Ao Chalong

Hi everyone

Been lurking around the forum for some time now and found a lot of valuable information.

In November I fly to Phuket for the first time and I can't wait to get there (especially after reading the forum...)! Since this is mainly a diving trip daytime activities are taken care of but now I'm wondering about some decent nightlive. My hotel is in Ao Chalong, from what I've read a bit off from the usual party places.
My question is now:
Are there some nice bars/clubs/... in or around Chalong with decent BGs? If not what would be the nearest? Or do I have to go all the way to Patong / Karon? (Which I certainly will do a few times)

2nd question:
As I'm not that much of a night owl especially not when I go diving (prefer to be well rested for my own safety...) how do BG react to having a few drinks and then heading back to the hotel around 10-12 pm for LT?

Not too sure about Chalong. If you take a short trip into Kata Centre then there's a little soi of bars on the end at the junction, mixture of BG's & LB's - you can't miss it & It's OK.

Possibly better, if you fancy a few beers & good company Mee Bar in Kata Beach, relocated into a new soi a year ago. Great Italian at the end of the street Campanino's (fantastic Pizza - honest). There are a couple of BG bars in the soi & Mee Bar is a good place to ask any questions.

Of course Patong is not so far away, even if you head out early I would be surprised if you meet someone that they will say no to returning with you - as long as you pay the tuk-tuk & usual expenses. Also Safari is a little over half way to Patong, sort of in between, but never been there early so can't say if it's worth it before midnight.

Certainly worth taking a wander into Mee's, then from then upto Kata Centre. If not impresed there then you could also try Karon.

You can go to Phuket Town for a visit. Closer than Patong.

Not really so much by way of farang centered nightlife around Ao Chalong - along road from Ha Yak Chalong (5 road junction roundabout) heading to Kata/Patong over the hills there are Thai orientated kareoke joints and few open air bar beers - but not really recommended unless you can speak a little Thai at least. There are a few massage places too - but these cater to Chinese/Koreans mainly. On that same road is the Green Man english pub - very good food and great place for a 'normal drink' or to take your 'teeruk' to but not a pick-up joint.

Probably best as Col suggested - goto Kata/Patong find someone bring back - tuk-tuk from Ao Chalong should take 20 min.

Here's a link with some pics of the restaurant. It's at the end of the soi, map attached - this should help you find the bar area of Kata Beach. Few bars there, mixture. Mee & an English themed bar, run by Peter - opened April, looks pretty decent, he sold his other place in Kata and moved to this new soi. Worth a look to pop up to Kata Centre for a few BG/LB (smally bars). Sure other BM's will have some ideas from their experiences.

its not so much nightlife, but soemtimes i drive dwon to chalong bay, right on the water where all the speedboats are tied down. they have a couple small bar/restaurants. i like to drink a few beers, eat a little bit, right on the water

Just realised the map location is the old soi, just take this map & picture 2 more soi's (going towrd Kata Centre) it's now at the end of (I think) the third on the right. My apology, they've been v.busy building I should have checked first.
