Hi Cookies
The subject of whether you can do IHM with the client supine can cause a bit of a storm on HP.
Sometimes I may start a massage on a chair and work the shoulders, head and neck before transferring them to the couch. One the advantages of using a couch is that you can work the neck while it is relaxed and do a nice facial. Disadvantages are that its not so easy to work the scalp as well, or the shoulders. Having said that I do work the shoulders with the client in different positions (ie prone & side position), but I'm into remedial not pampering so not over concerned about making the client ever so relaxed and being ever so holistic.
In terms of routine: palm and thumb the top of the shoulders; neck and scalp work with the head going from one side then the other; facial; arms; chakra balancing; quick squeeze of the feet to ground; job done!
Best Wishes
