Hi
I have been suffering with backpain constantly for the last 5 or so years, I have been told that it is due to degerated disks in my lower back and have had MRI's and Surgery including Manipulation under anisthetic and an Epidural about a one and a half years ago. I had no real benefit from the surgery and then about 6 months after the surgery my legs started to go numb.
My front and outer thighs have become permanantly numb now on the surface and during prolonged spells of standing still such as in a shopping line or washing up and also prolonged walking for longer than 10 minutes, the numb parts of my legs start to slowly burn, getting hotter and hotter this stops when I am able to sit down or lie down at which point it slowly disapears.
I am due to have another MRI and am still waiting for the appointment, my Acupuncturist has moved away and anyway has had no success with the numbness and burning.
My current doctor at the hospital wanted to perform an operation on some nervers at the front of my pelvice but I have declined this as I can feel the spread of the numbness and burning from my lower back and am sure it is not an unrealated problem with other nerves.
I have also had Physio, Bowen Therapy.
Any suggestions as to what could be causing this and ideas of how it could be treated would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
