NYE in Phuket....what would most suggest as a must do?

This will be my first time in Thailand. I will be arriving December 30th and departing Jan 13th. I have read a dizzying array of information from the forum and it is has been fascinating and VERY helpful. Thanks in advance for the suggestions ....as I know you guys have a few opinions.

Fireworks on the beach? I vaguely remember a beach concert a couple of years ago..... Wade knee deep in chinese crackers on Bangla. Try and barfine someone for under a 1000 baht before midnight? Upto you!

Yeah.....no gala for me. Looking for a lot of fun and relatively no restraint.

Get to wherever you plan on spending the night, early.
The roads are busy and it's not unusual to spend 1/2+ going just a few hundred meters on beach road, depending on where you're staying,better to walk, if heading to bangla road for the night.

I would think going out a bit early would be best just to pick your companion for the night, that way you can celebrate the new year together.

Beach party isn't bad. A DJ, plenty of fireworks and buckets.
Bangla is mayhem with silly string

if you want to meet BMs from in here go to Mai Tai Bar on NYE...we normally fill the joint up from about 11pm onwards

il be in Phuket NYE as well... has anyone been for the NYE party on Koh Phangang ? can it be compared to a Full moon party ?
