Three Oak Park massage businesses have been shut down following a joint Oak Park police and Cook County Sheriff's investigation into alleged prostitution, according to an Oak Park spokesman.

Village spokesman David Powers said Oak Park received complaints last month alleging prostitution at King Spa, 6441 W. North Ave., and two Angel Spa locations at 1102 Chicago Ave. and 6340 Roosevelt Road.

"After receiving complaints last month alleging prostitution at the sites, Oak Park police contacted the Cook County Sheriff's Department, and a joint investigation began," Powers said. "Suspicious activity observed at the locations led undercover officers to pose as potential clients, which allowed them to gather evidence that led to the arrests."

Four people were taken into custody Aug. 8, and they now face charges following the investigation.


According to Oak Park police, Tina King, 51, of the 4500 block of South LaCrosse Avenue, Chicago, was charged with prostitution in connection with King Spa, and Limei Menge, 47, of the 2400 block of Kelburn Avenue, Rosemead, Calif., was charged with prostitution in connection with Angel Spa, 1102 Chicago Ave.

Police also charged Zhang Lan, 49, of the 200 block of 19th Street, Chicago, with conducting a massage without having a license in connection with Angel Spa, 6340 Roosevelt Road, and Tiantian Kan, 30, of the 200 block of West 18th Street, Chicago, with conducting a massage without having a license in connection with Angel Spa, 6340 Roosevelt Road.

According to Powers, all three businesses have been shut down pending a license review hearing.
