OGDEN — A 46-year-old man has been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting five customers at a massage business in Newgate Mall, Ogden police said Monday, Aug. 8.
Hongwei “Allen” Yang of Roy was booked into the Weber County Jail Sunday on suspicion of five counts of sexual battery, two counts of voyeurism and five counts of unlawful conduct by a massage therapist, according to an Ogden Police Department news release.

Police received complaints from July 19 through Sunday, Aug. 7, on five separate alleged incidents. The press release said all five women, ranging in age from 23 to 47, reported they were touched inappropriately during massages at Better Massage Parlor, 3651 Wall Ave. Two alleged victims said Yang watched them undress before their massages.
Yang denied the allegations, according to the release.
Detectives on Sunday served a search warrant at the parlor, confiscating computers, video equipment and documents, according to police.
Ogden police Lt. Tim Scott told the Standard-Examiner that Yang had been an employee at the parlor for two to three months. He said detectives are working with state professional licensing officials as part of the investigation.
The Utah Division of Professional Licensing website has no active state massage therapy license listed for Hongwei Yang. According to the release, Yang “was not licensed or certified as a masseuse in Utah.” Further information on licensing was not immediately available from DOPL spokeswoman Jennifer Bolton.
Scott said detectives found the alleged assaults progressed in severity from July 19 to the Aug. 7 incident. “They became more aggressive,” Scott said.
Police declined to identify the owner of the massage parlor. A phone number for the business seemed to be out of order Monday.
Scott said Weber County prosecutors began reviewing Yang’s case Sunday and charges may be filed in 2nd District Court by Tuesday.
Police said they believe there may be more alleged victims and urge anyone involved to contact Ogden Police Detective Reed Mackley at 801 629-8497 or [email protected].
