Would like to know if anyone has any tips about using oils in Indian Head Massage. I only did a short course and we didn't use oils during that time.
The way I have been doing it is like this;
I tie the hair up with clip (if client has hair).
I apply warm oil to neck, shoulders and upper back.
Take out hair clip, comb hair and apply oil .
Clip up hair again then start routine as usual.
This seems to work fine although when I come to doing the face I don't feel that it is nice to massage their face with oil on my hands even though I only use a very small amount. Our teacher said we could cleanse our hands with hand sanitiser in between, but in practise in breaks the smooth routine and you are not supposed to lose contact. I also have the same problem if I'm not using oil and someone has greasy hair. But surley then it shouldn't bother them as it is their own natural oil. Any thoughts on this would be grateful.
Thank you
