Hi,
I have to write this a bit quickly, but I just got a surprise email from a client I saw weekly until last August, when she disappeared. She wrote saying that she stopped coming because she felt so good, but started having aches and pains again and is preparing for a trip, and hoped she could come every day for 2 1/2 weeks to prepare. She hasn't been getting any massage since last August, and she's about 80. She has acute scoliosis and would benefit from a lot of work, but I'm certainly wary of doing too much at once. She stays active (on her feet a lot) but is not athletic, does not work out, has little tone. She's systemically healthy---eats well, rarely ill, low blood pressure, no other health conditions. I'm trying to figure out what would be a reasonable schedule. I was thinking massage tuesday and friday, and stretching on another day... I would do more of either one, but I'm not sure how much her body is prepared to handle. I would play it by ear, except we don't have a lot of time to experiment before her trip.
I know this is hard without knowing the client, but wonder if anyone has any intuitions about how much her body might be able to handle. I am not thinking about the business or money here---I just want to give her as much work as can benefit her most, and not more .
Thank you!!!!!!!
