A couple of years back, I was with Lucy (now at Atlantis) over at Accupointe on Kingsway, near Metrotown. Cops came in, Ken buzzed all rooms and I got dressed as quick as possible. The cop came in and asked for ID (drivers license), which he took to his car's computer.
When he came back (15min later), he gave me a stern lecture about prostitution/ what goes on in these places/ risks of STD's/ abused girls/ drug related aspects/ organised crime/ illegal immigrants and girls on student or visitor visas. Essentially, he could not do anything as there is rarely ever any audit trail (everyone pays cash).
Bottom line reason for their raid was to check for underaged girls/ illegal workers/ girls or guys with outstanding warrants/ and to disrupt and deter clientelle from frequenting these types of places. It's kinda ironic that they try to upset the apple cart when the City of Burnaby is collecting astronomical licensing fees from MP's.
You're definitely right though, the third leg definitely plays dead when the adrenaline rush hits you from the police raid
Bottom line, if you don't have any outstanding warrants/ major traffic or parking violations, don't worry and be happy! It' ain't worth the cops time to do anything to you because it won't stick and it certainly is not worth the time or paper work involved
