Onsite massage course at The European Shiatsu School

Hi everyone

I hope someone can help me.

I'm looking into doing an on-site massage course. I know there have been some threads on this already and a lot of you recommend TouchPro and AOSM but has anyone done the course at The European Shiatsu School?

I've had a few on-site massages at The Walk-in Back Rub shop in Neals Yard, London and they have been really good. The therapists said they trained at the European Shiatsu school which has a centre in Neal's Yard.

I've never had any other on-site massages though so have nothing else to compare it to.

I'm really not sure what to do and as it's quite a bit of money to do the course, any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

I haven't heard of this course but I did TouchPro in December and it was the best course I've done. The training is spot on, the support fantastic, and you can be part of their certification network (they are creating a standard in chair massage and are the only international chair massage certification network). I've already made the money back I spent on the course just from being on their register!

i'm aosm trained. i work with a lot of aosm and touchpro trained people. i've heard that touchpro don't do the marketing workshops or the advanced techniques workshops that aosm do on their diploma course, but both seem equally good in terms of their training quality and support.

i went with aosm because the touchpro guy really turned me off by badmouthing the aosm.

i just tried getting onto to the European Shiatsu School website and couldn't. how much is their course?

by the way, the walk in back rub like to employ shiatsu practitioners who they then re-train.

The course at ESS is £425 but there are no London dates at the moment so I've ruled them out.

I called Touchpro and aosm and there are places available for both courses starting soon. After a lot of thinking, I've decided to go with aosm. I prefer to have a week off after the first weekend, to consolidate all I've learnt, before doing the next weekend. I also like the fact that you can pay in installments.

I'm really looking forward to starting the course! Will let you know how I get on but I'm sure I will love it like everyone else who has done it.

CatyH: I like your website! I noticed you trained with Clare Maxwell Hudson too. I qualified the year before you.
