Hey guys
My PC got updated last night automatically
and now I don't have sound.
The realtek audio drivers seem to be correct but still no sound!!
Any thoughts?

I'm assuming you re-booted your PC, right?

Do you have a graphics or sound card too? The sound output might have inadvertently switched to another source.

Right-click on the little sound icon on the bottom right and go into sound settings. Then make sure you have the proper sound output device selected.

If worse comes to worst, go to device manager and remove the sound driver/device. Google for the latest driver and install that instead. Reboot your PC.

Good luck...don't blame me if your PC blows up

Isn’t this the massage forum ? We are talking about driver here. Removing from device manager there is another option for install the latest driver and don’t need google right.
When we do test for the sound we can pull out all the USB cables and all the cables attached to the pc and try to run test .

@Caliguy - most likely just a device or driver issue. Not a big deal. If all else fails, just buy a cheap sound card...you'll get way better sound quality too.

It seems like the driver is not finding the hardware. Do I uninstall the driver and reboot then reinstall?

Yes, you can do that but find the correct driver first...PPC is saying you can just update the driver from Device Manager but it might be better to just remove the device altogether, install the driver and then reboot...if you have more than one sound device, your PC might be getting confused.

Not sure his is laptop or desktop? I’m sure he can fix it without buying any extra sound card. Or he can take his pc to nearby starsbucks and ask the hot girl to fix the driver’s issue.
