Opinions on Business Name?

I posted this one the Business Names sticky too but didn't get any response.

What do you all think of the name Ascent Bodywork?

I'm looking at it from the following perspectives:

-massage can help you ascend above the stress.
-lots of climbers around here.
-I've often compared my own healing journey to climbing (ascending) a mountain.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Your name has to reflect you as a person and the work you do. I'm mainly a sports, deep tissue, re-hab therapit and lives in AZ. So I combined sports and the "ative adult". For Active Lives Massage :

I see the perv thought, but I doubt you'll get any on that name.

If anything they may think you are more of an energy / spiritualist type therapist.

BUT, if you maybe put a mountain on your card possibly with a climber attached--- I think you'll find you get just the type of client you are looking for.

I'm thinking that my logo will have a rock face and a butterfly lighting on it. I've got a thing for butterflies. And, while I enjoy sports massage a lot and will be working part time in a medical-ish setting, I'm most interested in energy work and intuitive work. So, in that sense, Ascent Bodywork will work for me.

Wish my mentor hadn't run off to Canada for a month to learn how to teach Thai massage. I'd ask him too.

Actually I take that back. I don't wish that. 'Cause he's going to teach me how to do Thai Massage. Hee hee.

Anyone else with any thoughts?

I like it! I don't think there would be a perv vibe unless it was a perv reading the name.. but then, the pervs I know would read what they wanted into everything - and I am NOT implying your bro-in-law here, just to be clear. Just saying. It's all about not perpetuating the yuck energy, you name your business for your reasons and follow with such intent.

Of course, I think you should choose this name only if Huggagoat Massage is taken.

Cool! Thanks everyone. I sometimes get attached to a word or name (I'm a writer too) and can't tell when it sounds stupid. I'm glad this one doesn't sound stupid or pervy, 'cause I like it!

LOL at the Hugagoat. But Scape (the goat) can still be my mascot since he's a mountain goat!
