normally you find in every hotel room, usually in the writing desk drawer a guest guide, which gives the guestinformation about all technicalities and locations of the hotel´s services.
Even in outback places like Chongqing and Yishang or Wuhan they offer this not only in Chinese, but also in English.
Usually this also includes a description of how to use the phone and what goes and what doesn´t.

don´t be so afraid or think, that anybody of the staff would really care whom you call via the hotel-phone for what ever purpose.

They will just present you the bill with the charges for the calls and that is it.
Maybe a list of the called numbers is included, but even that should be no problem.

If you want to have fun and you are in a country far away from your home, then just be yourself and don´t think, you have to act like an undercover agent.

the hotel-staff of almost any hotel in the world is used to quite a lot and what they observe, they will keep for themselves.
