Elemis
We considered several options before deciding on Elemis
1) Mix and match menu using the best of our favorite brands for the different treatments. Too complicated for the technicians and too costly since not all brands have professional use sizes.
2) Sundari branded menu. A little too obsure
3) Kerstin Florian branded menu. Also a tad obscure, but they are the brand for a fab resort spa in Southern VA (three hours from here) that is starting to get well known. They have great high-end skin/face products that would fill a whole in our retail lines. Downside - they just signed up a nearby resort spa (less than an hour away) to use their menu so we would not be the only ones in the area
Elemis offered fabulous training (a week for skin care, a week for body treatments, at no charge). They are very detailed and do dictate exactly how each treatment should be done - number of strokes, etc. Surprisingly, the techs and the clients love that aspect of it. Very ritualized. They also come back twice a year for refresher training.
All of the treatments are aromatherapy of the highest quality. 80% plus of our treatment clients buy products. After a week of offering treatments we already have to re-order!
The line is not too well known, but their use on Steiner cruise ship spas (same parent company) and their presence in some very high end locales (the spas at some CT and NV casinos, spa "pods" going in to NOrdstroms) is starting to build their brand. They also have a high end skin care line for retailing.
They have some unique treatments built around their incredible products. Every massage includes dry brushing of the skin to exfoliate and enhance the moisturizing effect of the oils used in their massage, among other things.
We are located a 1/4 mile from the VA school of Massage - also owned by Steiner - so our future hires will already be familiar with the treatments and product lines.
Finally, it was a bit of a mutual love-fest around the fact we were the first free-standing spa to sign on as an Elemis-only menu offering.
