overdue baby

Hi

A friend of mine is a week over due and desperate not to be induced. I have never doen any maternity courses so I am a bit dubious of treating her. Do you think I should and should I avoid anything?

Pregnancy is normal not a sickness.....

Don't avoid doing anything, lots of spine/relaxation/ elinimation along with pituitory and uterus...

I am running a maternity reflexology course in November if interested for future use....

It is very common to go a week overdue with any pregnacy, particularly with a first pregnancy. Most women are feeling anxious and tired as it is so difficult to sleep when you are this far along, due to positioning in bed at night and then being comfy and having to get up for the loo! Many women are excited about the event but also worried about how it is all going to go. Your friend will probably appreciate being pampered and made to feel special, as this may be the only chance she has for a while. You may want to give a slightly shorter treatment but apart from that be led by your friend and help her through this time, it will do her a great deal of good. I hope all goes well for her, when her body is ready the baby will come.

reflex is great during later stages of pregnancy and great during birth too -reflex suggests is shortens labour....you might want to follow her into the suite with your towels in tow....

when you do work with her do lots of relaxation moves...and do some visualisation work...get her to see her womb as a flower opening up and the baby making his or her way to that opening....

speaking as a mum....i was induced after 'phoney' labour pains as i was so excited to see my baby...looking back, i wish i'd been more relaxed and just enjoyed those last few weeks of peace and sleep...especially sleep....
