Ok, I should probably know this one :oops:... What is the difference between pain throughout the range of motion and pain only on initiation? If there is only pain at the start of an action, what does that tell us? I have this friend..alright, it's me. I'm still having some neck issues after my back sommersault fiasco. It only smarts when I begin to turn my head. Can you lift me out of my ignorance?
 


When performing an action, certain muscle/s begin the action and other muscle/s pitch in or take over to complete the action. For example, if you are in a supine position and bending your neck forward, the longus capitis & colli are the first to start the action. The anterior scalenes & SCM help carry out the action. So, when you are turning your neck, the muscle/s that start the action are the ones likely having the issue.
