pains in fingers and thumbs

hi all

bit worried actually, been doing reflex for 3 years now, and just recently my fingers and thumbs have been in pain, they click an awful lot anyway, doc just says thats just me, but this pain has been a dull throbbing pain.

does anyone have any excersices for the hands that can help?

Hi there Sarah, sorry to hear you're having problems. I wonder if physio or osteopathy might help you. On another note, there is a method called Gentle Touch Reflexology (I think) taught by a lady called Sue Ricks who posts on here sometimes. I've heard lots of praise for her method, and I know it's supposed to be great for the therapist in terms of saving your hands from undue strain. Might be worth it for your long term career. I hope you get this problem sorted out, good luck.

Ouch - I hope I'm wrong. Through office work I developed RSI years back, so I'm wondering about that. Anything repetitive or stressful on fine muscles can cause RSI - last week I even met a teen on a manic production line who has it in the wrists. So I hope I'm wrong but I know your doctor is! What does 'just you' mean? Anyway, the thing about RSI is that should it be that, by its very nature the only cure is to stop or cut down on the activity. Like typists. But good luck!
