"This panel finds that your criminal actions cannot help but call into question your professional judgment," the college said, adding his misconduct "erodes the public trust and confidence in yourself as a Regulated Massage Therapist, and reflects poorly on the profession as a whole."
Pitt's licence was reinstated on June 12, only to be suspended on Aug. 29 after the sexual abuse allegations came to light.
"It is extremely upsetting โ traumatic, really โ for Sheila's family and friends to ever see Jeffrey Pitts' name again, let alone in relation to further allegations of harm," Nunn's best friend, Susan Chilton, said in an interview.
"I really hope Jeffrey Pitts has not harmed any more people. Because if he has, it will seem to me to have been preventable."
Chilton questions why it took so long for the college to suspend him for killing her friend โ "Googling would have brought up his history" โ and wonders why the suspension was for only six weeks. She figured his Ontario licence would be permanently cancelled.
"We put our faith in governing bodies," Chilton said. "They should be accountable."
The college's discipline panel said its decision partly relied on Pitts' guilty plea in court, his apology and expression of remorse.
Nunn was a passenger in her own car driven by Pitts when it went out of control at 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2014, on Frederick Street near River Road in Kitchener. The Lexus hit a mature tree, became airborne and struck a house. The car landed on its roof.
Data from the car's black box revealed Pitts was driving 135 km/h five seconds before the crash on a street where the speed limit is 50 km/h. His speed dropped to 94 km/h just before the crash.
The parole board said Pitts, who has a prior conviction for driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol, was driving his date home in her car.
"Not only was my sister Sheila a victim who paid with her life, due to Jeff's ongoing disregard for the law, now there are potentially four more victims and families that will forever be changed like our family has been," said Nunn's younger sister, Lisa Nunn Wyville.
"No one will ever understand the pain that this man has caused."
