For those of us who take credit cards you need to be PCI Compliant. I am with cellcharge and it cost me $60 to take the online course. And if you fail you will be charge $15 a month till you pass.

The online class I took was on the Trustwave website. I just had to answer a bunch of questions on how I processes credit cards and how I handle clients cc infomation. The system will also be crawling through my site bc I have on online store

Thanks for this reminder, Jessica. I need to call Cell Charge-- they were supposed to send me something about it, and I haven't received it yet. Need to get on them about that so *we* don't end up getting charged for it!

Your credit card processing co. would have wrtitten about it with your monthly statement. At least that is how I found out.

Are you sure it isn't just a cell charge rule/cost? I haven't heard a thing other than what you've posted here in the forums.

I got a letter as well. I also received a voicemail to call them about it but I bypassed that number in case it was a scam and called my provider. They assured me this is being done across the board to ensure we are taking precautionary measures when dealing with credit cards. Also is a tracking system to determine who handles transactions online or by phone or by processor through the phone line. It didn't cost me anything to do the questionnaire online and I printed out a certificate afterwards.

And the questionnaire dealt with safety...making sure we kept coies secure and shredded when no longer needed.

Who do you work with for credit cards, Touch of Grace? I still haven't heard anything about it from Paypal. Free makes sense. A $30.00 charge with no warning would not endear me. While I cannot imagine *not* locking up clients' credit card info and shredding it after it's no longer needed, I wouldn't have any problem with being required to go over security compliance and taking a quiz. I just haven't heard a thing about it anywhere but here.

I think bc you are using paypal you maybe in the clear bc they are the ones handleing the cc info not you, but I just double check on paypals website just to make sure
