Phuket, is it worth going?

Hi, i will be in bkk in june for a week and im thinking of going to phuket for a week too.The only thing i would like to know is the bar scene good and is there heaps of activities during the day.

I would like to stay at deevena lodge, any info on that hotel about damage from the tsunami.Any info would help thanks,

Let me tell you something ... I had my 1st experience with Phuket May 2000. I was in the Marines Corp then. I had such a good time that I worked double shifts for 2 months STRAIGHT just for the chance to go back!! I can't wait until May 13th!! I am assuming that you are a single guy. If so, you should DEFINITELY go to Phuket!!

I can only agree i have not been the same since i came back even my work colleagues have told me this in Phuket there is heaps to do by day or night with your hotel did you mean Deevana Patong Resort and spa if so it is operating normally don't know if it's guest friendly i don't think so :cheers:

Thanks for the replies,yes im single and yes i was thinking of staying in deevana patong resort but if its not guest friendly then i might try another hotel,any recommendations i would like to stay close to bangla road and spend 1500-2000 baht tops.

Whats the best gogo bars for getting girls longtime? and the best bars for a great time,no doubt heaps of them.Thanks guys,

If you are considering going to Phuket than you are about to have the holiday of your life. Like the other BMs stated, use the seach and then when you have any specific questions go ahead and ask away. I had already been to Thailand twice before I found this forum. I made my third trip last year and thanks to the BMs and of course Nicke I had the time of my life. This forum is filled with info and worthy opinions.
Best advice is to use this forum for everything it is. You will not find a more informative bunch of guys anywhere else.

Stayed at Deevana in February and it was. Trick is to register 2nd guest when you check in. If you don't have name for your 2nd guest just make up a thai girls name!

I agree with all the other BM's, this trip will become a focal point in your life, a turning point! It's true, LOS absolutly changes your life, have been a few times, and all i thing about is going back... one never seem to tire of this place. So in my humble oppinion....... YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GO

As for help with what to do/see or even accomadation, the search is the best friend you could have!!!!

Be aware though, that some of these girls will try and get you hooked on them for long term sponsorship / Visa's applications etc....so l would recommend you be aware of this fact before you travel.
