Madurai: A prostitution racket was recently busted in Madurai. The Tallakulam police in the city busted the racket that was functioning at an Ayurveda massage centre in Narimedu area.
According to a media report, four people were arrested during the busing of the racket. The police were also able to rescue a 32-year-old woman who was indulged in the practice of prostitution.
The police had received information about the racket after which the police reached the spot on Monday evening. Reports suggest that the police barged into the Ayurveda centre following which, it was confirmed that the place was being used for prostitution.
The main people behind the racket are M Mohammed Usman Malappuram and S Mahesh - all 27 years of age. All of them have been arrested. In addition to that, the police have also arrested two women. The police are, currently, on a lookout for three more people including one woman.

Gurugram prostitution racket
However, this was not the only prostitution racket that came to light. Recently, the Gurugram police also busted a prostitution centre in the city and arrested eight people after the raid.
The arrested people include a spa manager as well as seven women. The Gurugram police, upon their arrest also booked all of them under different sections of the Immoral Trafficking Act. An FIR was also registered.
Just like the Madurai one, the Gurugram sex racket was also busted following a tip-off that the police received. The information came from a decoy who visited the spa and informed the police following the confirmation of the racket.
