positive view of therapy on bbc?

Last year Get Well UK provided treatments for a pilot scheme in Northern Ireland, similar to a previous Welsh programme, whereby two health practices referred their patients for complementary treatments free of charge. I've just received an email from them regarding a forthcoming TV documentary (hopefully anyone interested in mainland UK can access via Sky)

From Get Well UK:

"It's been an interesting few weeks with two media-savvy scientists criticising complementary therapies with assertions that there is little evidence to support their use.

We're delighted to say that we have a different story to be told, that of patients who have received complementary therapies through the NHS and are now finding their health vastly improved. There is no argument about whether there is science to back it up, just deeply moving stories about people who are not well, who have tried the best of what western medicine has to offer them and have got increasingly ill. Then they were offered complementary therapies paid for by this government-backed pilot project. The results are amazing.

BBC Northern Ireland will be screening the hour long documentary Get Well NI on Monday 5th May at 9pm.

As well as viewing this in N. Ireland if you have Sky you can see it on channel 973 or 992."

Regards Getwell Uk......I went to a seminar in Newcastle about two years ago by Boo Armstrong where I asked her what the plans were for extending into Scotland. She was very vague, no definitive answer.

I left an email address (on Getwell Uk "contact forms" as an interested party)

Never heard diddly squat until two weeks ago which was an email asking for some kind of donation.....I will have to dig it out as I deleted it.

I was very interested in helping extending Get Well Uk in Scotland but was extermely disappointed in the lack of interest from the organisation.

Well I managed to watch bits and pieces - I was interested in the reflexology and massage aspects but most of what I saw was acupuncture and homeopathy. I reckon the local Assembley will push for free prescriptions before complementary treatments but we can live in hope lol.
