I am currently doing my internship in a facility that serves parents whose children are being treated in a hospital.
I have experienced a couple of clients that have given birth to premies. One particular client asked me about abdominal massage. In school we have learned a basic abdominal routine. However, I am not familiar with the contraindications involved. It seems obvious that more superficial work would be beneficial as opposed to deeper work (psoas, etc.). I might be wrong
Would anyone mind sharing with me your experience with post-partum massage, the contraindications, how soon after the birth is it appropriate, tips, etc.?
Thank you!
