Prague Air Travel Help?

Well, I am actually going to Europe to take part in the World Cup party although I won't be going to Germany. Thanks for the info, I was not aware many visitors would be staying in Prague also. Better book a room quick. Just want to make sure there will be plenty of girls around that is not the only reason for the trip but I want to take advantage as much as possible when I am there from pros and regular girls as well.

I agree with BBx that some will use either Prague or the border towns close to Germany as "basecamp".

There have in the press been some wild numbers about 200000 ekstra pros going to Germany, to me that sounds a bit over hte hill.
However the Czech police have raided a couple of border cities lately, Cheb for instance.

This leads to a question to you guys.
What happens if you are at a club and the Police raid it?
I was at k5 some years ago when they had a "visit", they only checked out the staff and the girls and not the customers.
Is it still so?

What sort of ID do you guys carry around with you ? and have you ever been stopped by the police?
I carry a copy of my passport, a card with the hotel adress and the cash I figure I need.
All real documents and credit cards are in the safetybox at my hotel.

You can pay CSA using popular credit cards like VISA, Master Card and American Express. but not a debit card like Maestro (popular in Europe but don't know if you have then in the US).

It doesn't matter what the currency you pay in with a credit card. It just gets converted back into your local currency at the day's exchange rate, but the actual rate is usually better than the bank's buying rate.

By the way, I definitely agree with Mandrake about staying out of Germany during the World Cup, unless you want to be part of it. Actually it might be a good idea to give most of Europe a miss while the football is on and plan to come over in July when it will be all over.

Mandrake, a curious finding in USA travel is that it usually is not cheaper to fly from a smaller city unless you switch airlines. This is not always true and yes, you can fly out of Atlanta or JFK or Chicago. Getting out of Alabama is easy.

I think I must get my credit card internationalized or authorized for Czech Republic before purchasing in Prague currency but that never is easy for for a non-national. I will keep trying with CSA. I always prefer International Airlines as it gives you a flair for the country you are traveling to. Thanks for the info. Any news by anybody about Andrea at Sweet Paradise ?

Hi QPT, forgive me being curious, but can you fly directly to Prague from Alabama?

I would figure the way to do it is to get a cheap flight to New York and then find a cheap transatlantic deal to any city in Europe (hopefully directly to Prague) and then find another cheap flight to Prague.
This is offcourse not really non stop but maybe cheaper??.
Once you are in Europe, Prague is less than two hours away from most big hubs like London and Frankfurt.

Airplane travel is a bit of a jungle, I can say that the cheapest round trip to Prague from copenhagen is about 150 Us Dollars and half of that is airport tax.

About the cheap citys, I live in Copenhagen and for me even New York is cheap.
In Europe Prague is one of the cheapest tourist citys but Athens, Greece is no too bad either.
However once June comes around the prices go up anywhere.

PS unless you like football (soccer), stay out of Germany during the worldcup in june, there will be a lot of tourist in june and we will all be talking football and drinking beer at probably inflated prices.

Its just the weather. I went in November with CSA and it was $ 550 round trip. Entire Europe is expensive during summer time.

Yes, I know that I can go to the travel tip sect. however I am asking for special info directly to Prague. My ticket consolodator can do better wth South America than Prague.. Why ?

Does anyone who flys in to Prague know how to get tickets for about 500 round trip and what cities are the cheapest ?

I do not like non-connecting but that seems to be the usual thru Amsterdam. I wish to use CSA, (The Czech National Airline), but they average 450 per each one-way. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
